The strapping is considered, by CCM, to be one of the most important areas of the pad, so the R1.9s feature the new minimal leather strapping set-up that is seen on the Premier Pros. The movements of the pads are held in control by a new larger Velcro calf strap that can be adjusted to any goalies preference. The R1.9s features a shallow soft flex boot for optimal boot flex while skating, and a loose fit leg channel for better pad rotation and on-ice seal in the butterfly.
